Berlin-based startup Circular.fashion has developed a curated platform offering sustainably produced and recycled source materials. This platform is called Circular Material Library and provides the fashion and textile industry with recycled materials so circularity can be directly considered in the design phase of products.
Furthermore, the startup has developed the "circularity.ID® Open Data Standard": a database that stores information about materials used, their origin and manufacturing processes and is attached to the finished product as a QR code label. This also offers users the opportunity to find out about care and repair.
In addition, circular.fashion cooperates with sorting and recycling facilities in order to be able to use the ID optimally for the end of the product’s lifecycle. Circular.fashion works on holistic solutions that can help the entire textile and fashion industry to become more circular and transparent.
We distinguish in three impact levels of circularity. As a circular ecosystem, ON is a good example of Impact Level 3.
