Florian Eickhold

Florian Eickhold has over 15 years of experience in developing strategies and solutions for climate policy. As a child of the Ruhr area in Germany, he knows first-hand the impact of industry on the environment. He studied Latin American Studies in Cologne and graduated with a focus on environmental economics and international politics. This was followed by international projects in climate protection, for a sustainable carbon market and climate financing. Florian also designs climate protection strategies for companies and the public sector. He works closely with industry, start-ups and social enterprises to achieve greater environmental sustainability. He specializes in carbon pricing, climate strategies, the EU Emissions Trading System and a voluntary carbon market (under the Paris Agreement).

After various positions in Latin America and Asia, he finally ended up in his favorite European cities with the capital B: Barcelona and Berlin, where he lives today.

He is driven by the search for solutions that are as ambitious as they are realistic and is fascinated by the diversity of the world. For him, a clear strategy begins with listening and observing. His comprehensive understanding then helps him to develop innovative approaches to climate protection and environmental sustainability.

Where do I come from?

I was born in Gelsenkirchen in the Ruhr area at a time when coal was still mined there and burned in blast furnaces. Even though I moved away from there when I was 4 years old, I still have many positive memories of the place and the people there. After different stations in Latin America and Asia I live today in my favorite European cities with "B". Barcelona and Berlin.

What drives me?

The search for the right, ambitious but realistic solution and the diversity of the world.

What is my strategy?

First to listen and look and then to try to understand new information, to look at it from different angles and then to use new knowledge advantageously.
