Where do I come from?

I spent my formative years in the picturesque student town of Marburg in Hessen. Fueled by my interest in languages and different cultures, I engaged in a student exchange program in Traverse City, Michigan, just before graduating from high school. The flexible course options at my high school enabled me to explore various subjects, leading me to discover my passion for human behavior and sustainability. Although my knowledge of Groningen was limited to its reputation, I applied for and got accepted into the psychology bachelor's program. A single weekend, including tasting the local Jenever, was all it took for me to be captivated by the city's international ambiance. Three years later, I delved into the Master's program in Environmental Psychology. What is this course even about?, I was asked a lot. Explaining its essence, I would mention learning how to motivate people towards environmentally conscious behavior and aiding their adjustment to newly emerging environmental realities. During my academic journey, I undertook an internship with the municipality of Groningen, focusing on future-oriented mobility and urban sustainability. Participating in the course Sustainability in Business and Economics steered me towards my favorite topic: sustainability in business. Post-graduation, I fulfilled my long-held dream of a global adventure, spending six months backpacking through South America and Asia. Amidst breathtaking landscapes many lasting friendships were formed. The Galapagos Islands, where I dived alongside hammerhead sharks and sea lions exceeded even the Amazon exploration and stunning hikes in Huaraz, Peru. Drawn to the vibrant energy of big cities, I chose Berlin as my next destination, marking the beginning of a new chapter at K'UP.

What motivates me?

My primary motivation is to foster the development of a sustainable world where individuals coexist harmoniously with nature. Discussions around sustainability have frequently been overlooked or approached rather carelessly. This underscores the critical need to reassess and overcome outdated paradigms. Collaborating with K'UP and my peers, I aspire to contribute to this transformative shift through innovative concepts.

What is my strategy?

Breaking free from conventional thought patterns, creating new and creative ideas, and continually enriching my knowledge - all while maintaining a sense of humor and a positive mindset.
